Job Disatisfaction?
If you are totally down at your job, and were looking for something new, would you come? If you are a web worker and wanted to supplement your income to pay for your health insurance premiums for your family, would you come?
Mike was rambling on about job boards this morning. I was reading, and about to say, “hmmm.. freakin’ a bunch of job boards. Screw that, those stupid places never got Rex back into the game.. waste of time… ” and then he made a statement that made absolute sense.
Instead, I’d like to see a single job board for tech bloggers, one that we can all sell into, and share the revenues pro-rata. There’s no reason why TechCrunch, VentureBeat, GigaOm, Guy Kawasaki and the others should all have their data in separate silos, aggregated only at the SimplyHired or Edgeio level along with other less interesting listings from all over the planet. None of these announced products do this.
Technically Speaking, I’m IN whenever all of us can agree where to host it, and how it will all work. I think that is the best possible job board for all coders and tech types. A job board created by those that try to stay on top of the tech. Why not? I say we all talk and give it a shot!
