Blogging: How Powerful Is It?
Since I run on both sides of the large chasm between the mainstream offline business and the online new way of doing business I get asked frequently from my staunch conservative business associates why I feel blogging is so influential to my business. Naturally, being a person who once felt that being online was a complete waste of time I now feel I need to aggressively provide specifics to my now interested business homies on why I changed my mind three years ago on what influence blogging and internet marketing can have on traditional offline business.
And in the news this morning is a prime example of how BLOGGING can have an impact on a business’ image or marketing efforts. On the front page of the Dallas Morning News Business Section was an article reported by Karen Robinson-Jacobs, a DMN staff writer, on a company in Plano, Tx., Noka, who makes chocolate truffles, and other chocolate items.
Ms Robinson-Jacobs reports that Noka has been receiving some negative comments on their products being priced too high, over $20 each Truffle, and quality too low. These negative comments are coming from the Blogsphere. Evidently the impact is taking some toll on Noka’s business. Enough of a toll the Dallas Morning News felt it should tag their front page with a blip to draw attention to the page and a half report in their business section. And post a Video on their web-site: VIDEO.
My point is clear, if the news media feels this type of story was worthy of this level of attention then there really must be something to all of the blogging that is going on. My word to you is take heed to this message reported today and seriously take a look at how internet marketing can help improve or tear down a business.
Technically Speaking: Don’t miss the boat!
