February 28th, 2007 admin Comments

And call me in the morning! Actually Allen is the coolest up and coming bloggers. His blog CenterNetworks is growing by leaps and bounds. He will be edging in near the top dogs real soon. Until then, he has cool stuff to give away. He has given away I believe like 5 of these Joost tokens already? So go get one of the two he has, if you have the time to be chilling on Joost.

Technically Speaking, I’ll be back after the 10-11pm lull to see if there is anything decent to post about! Oh.. yeah.. do the Link Blog if you are really bored and want to read. Heading there now to lock and load it!

Did your blog get in?

February 28th, 2007 admin Comments

Only 1000 were allowed into this new Digg like site called – Spotplex. Mike is really talking some good things here about the site. I have no clue if I was allowed in; probably not as I didn’t see it until late. No big deal. It should be interesting to watch to see this site grow.

What I wanted to say …

February 28th, 2007 admin Comments

Earlier today I posted an semi-announcement that SplashCast was going to make an announcement. Well they did earlier this afternoon. Good to see our buddy Paul from Denmark with his podcast #4 taking advantage of SplashCast. If some of you recall, he was on our show – Coffee with Rex Dixon #6.

Technically Speaking, I may move some of my podcasts over to SplashCast also. See if they do well over there. My one show (finale show for 7 Minutes with Rex Dixon – 12/7/2006) has phenomenal numbers!

Wesabe gets some cash

February 28th, 2007 admin Comments

wesabelogo.pngGood to see these Wesabe guys get some money. I remember when I first talked about them here, it seemed that everyone else on the web overlooked them. I think it was around the week before Thanksgiving.

Technically Speaking, I believe that Wesabe deserved a little boost.

Great Thread Running

February 28th, 2007 admin Comments

Over on Techquila Shots. The original post was basically a question by Steve Poland over there. It’s basically “What do you have cookin’.” Of course I answered just now, 30 deep at this writing. If you have a startup, or thinking about one, or have a business that isn’t working out – post a comment over there. I’m sure Steve can give some advice; Technically Speaking we all do, right?

While filling up the bin..

February 28th, 2007 admin Comments

Known as my Link Blog a few moments ago. I saw another breaking news item by Allen over on Centernetworks. I said it this morning in the Wrap N’ Roll folks. It won’t be long before there is literally a social network for butt pickers!

Technically Speaking, I think I’ll just start it and we can all just then go say “Social Networking has reached it’s climax moment!”

Oh yeah, I was so distracted with Allen’s post, that I almost forgot to state it – Link Blog! It’s locked and loaded again. btw, I think that most of the readers have already picked up on the fact of the new feed for it as well as the feeds for GMAFB?

CIO’s and Why They Fail (Second Mule Version)

February 28th, 2007 admin Comments

Comment blog to RD’s post  CIO’s and why they fail

RD, I’ll take your back on this one since your neck is ailing.

How many MBA’s does it take to screw a in light bulb?  None, their they are too busy blaming the light switch as being the problem the light is not coming on instead of dealing with the costs to replace the light bulb.

Why do businesses pick up these people with 3 MBA’s, put them in CIO or even CEO positions and not groom someone who knows what the heck is going on in their business?

Well my chiropractic challenged friend, the answer to that question is somewhat political.

What would the colleges with those high salaried professors and the overheads to keep their football and basketball programs going do if there was no reason for kids to go to college?

What would happen if corporate America started training their own employees to be exactly what they wanted them to be and provide them with a better education than the colleges who have the high salaried professors and the egotistically robust athletic programs?

And how much pressure from these colleges do you think is being put on the leaders of corporate America to hire their graduates who pay the tens of thousands of dollars tuitions so they can continue pay those high salaried professors and send their football team to Hawaii to bust heads?

You know the answers to these questions..

That my friend is why these companies are hiring MBA’s by the dozen.  Now, like you said, I know some people who got their MBA while being groomed for a position…my hats off to them.  But for the professional students out there with the quarter of a million dollar student loans to the colleges went to, well, they need high salary jobs to pay for that loan…whether they know squat about the business they are working for or not..

And as far as the colleges who loaned them the money, they do not want them to default on their loans, so they have a stake in them getting hired at high salary positions so they can get their money back so they can hook another student into their programs.

Well, maybe it is time for a readjustment in the business world and follow what old RD has to say and look to the people who know how the business is run instead of hiring people who have READ how the business should be run…
