Clear Video?

I saw this on IBGS, and I will have to agree, this is one of the sharpest, clearest, video I have seen online. The audio is also very clear. This is something that YouTube doesn’t even come close to touching. Quite a shame that quality has to be sacrificed for quantity.

I was also reading earlier today about how the movie and television studios are using the internet to save money. I can’t say that I blame them, as for every LonelyGirl15, there will be a few hundred VERYLonelyAndUnwatchedGirl295! This isn’t an issue, but relating it to music (of course), it’s more like the whole 80′s hair band era.

Anyone and everyone in 1983 that looked like they were in a metal band was signed. In fact there was a such a glut, some very B-C rated acts had deals. Bands that should have been playing and refining their sound in the clubs were receiving mega deals to the many labels back then. Much cocaine and alcohol was consumed. Many fast cars were wrecked, and many hotels were destroyed. All in the name of rock n’ roll! It was a fun time, but what do they have to show for it?

Fast Forward to 2007 Internet Video Revolution; IVR because it sounds cool. In this era of IVR, there are more sites, with more content then ever before. There are videocasters being signed to television production companies. Receiving money to do their own shows. There are a zillion and one cable outlets to put these shows on. Fast cars and bottled water are the rage. Cool parties where you can be on Justin.tv are the spot to be at.

Rewind to 1990. One band changed everything. Just like the dot com boom crash the first time around, this time around everyone swears they are being smarter. Such was the case as the last hair band ran out of their can of Aquanet, the last bit of ink died on the metal blade contract, something strange came out of the rainy city of Seattle.

Nirvana. Hair bands, Aquanet, eyeliner, etc… It was all forgotten. A few hundred record labels went under that day. This was the same day that Sub Pop sold their souls to the major labels, took their money and cashed out. Smartest business decision they could have made. Cashing out and watching from the sidelines is sometimes one of the more relaxing and rewarding experiences that you can do.

Fast Forward to 2007 again. How long do you think these 100 or more video sites will sustain life? How long do you think that “crap” production quality will stand up and “get you signed!”? It’s only a matter of time. It will work for awhile longer, as video is the new rage. Just like the 80′s when metal anything was the rage. Hair Metal, Speed Metal, Thrash Metal, Rip Your Soul Out with Satan Metal, etc… etal. It was all the same stuff recycled and repackaged in a different way.

Technically Speaking, I’m a firm believer in studying history. The human race is quite comical when you view it from the outside in; inside out.
