Tripping over the news of Pageflakes..

Pageflakes is stated to by a few of the big online blogs to be gaining “traction”. I love that buzz word, traction. Every single time I type it, it starts out as “track“. I have to kill the “k“, and keep going. I digress.

The funny thing about having news is that you are fed events in the future and are suppose to keep it under wraps. A disclaimer on Mashable says that “someone” broke embargo. That is the term for keeping things under wraps until a certain date and time. I find this quite amusing as “embargo” is really what your source tells you when it is.

Now back to Pageflakes for a minute. I think that the only reason Pageflakes has any traction is that certain places online give them major promotion and ad space. I personally haven’t used the service, but with other “metagator” services, why spend the time to share my sites? Most of them would be boring, and the feeds I subscribe would overwhelm you unless you stayed on top of them.

Pageflakes lets you easily share your own page with the entire Web, and another sharing option lets you make pages that can be edited by groups.

Technically Speaking, I think I share plenty here. I’m all about sharing, but I do it via this blog. Let’s see how far Pageflakes is traction wise by year’s end.
