Looks like the big news today is Live Search Maps launches photo-realistic 3-D imagery of New York City, several other cities. The connection speed must be high, and even then, there seems to be a lot of data that needs to be ported to your computer. The other cities will be coming online later today; throughout today.
I think maps such as these are about time. I’m looking forward to see how Google Maps counters. Also, Yahoo mapping and of course Ask.com’s mapping feature. Maps are a big business.
Technically Speaking, I hope that this will push mapping forward in a big way. Now if they can all solve the downloading of the maps, even with a high speed connection, things will really gain traction.
