iPhone, and how many have you seen

Today is my last day in San Francisco. I will be heading back to the STL in the morning. While the hype is still in full motion I will tell you that I have seen exactly TWO iPhone’s here in SF this weekend. One by a friend of a friend, and the second one while walking around the city today in a park.

I happened to be on the watch for them since Friday. Each time someone would be talking or texting on their cell, I’d observe to see if it was an iPhone. TWO. That is the number I have seen. The person in the park today also happened to be an Apple employee! Now, I will have to say, he works on the product design team there.

He further went on to say that “once people get one, and start to really dig into all you can do, it will change the way people look at cell phones”. Unfortunately, I thought about doing a video interview after the fact! Yes, I was just out enjoying the city, and wasn’t in grab the story mode today.

Now Jeremy went into why he believes that the iPhone will not dominate the space. This fact is probably further supported by the latest article from the NY Times. Even though the NY Times says that the iPhone seems to be a device to be reckoned with; it does state that overseas there are phones that already do many things similar to the iPhone.

Don’t get me wrong, the one that I had a close up handle on was quite impressive. Also as being reported so far, the battery life on these phones are really better than expected. I will still wait on purchasing one, as the price range is a bit out of reach as well as so far unjustifiable as to cost. There are other phones that can be better utilized for business needs.

Technically Speaking, the phone is very interesting but they are not everywhere” as I expected to see since Friday. Quite mystifying since I am in the heart of where all that happens, “happens” this week. More from the STL this week, and I just updated the Link Blog for the first time in a few days. I wonder if the first crotchless panty generated this much hype? It should be business as usual minus the Wednesday 4th of July celebration.
