Sprint proves customer service is last

Sprint did something that made me turn up my eyebrow. Yes, they actually are disconnecting, terminating over 1,000 customers service for too many customer service calls. Sprint, where customer service ranks last.

This is totally unbelievable. I look at my calender and I see it’s really June 6th, and not April 1st. I’m in shock. I mean, their customer service is a 20 plus minute wait as it stands. It is ridiculous if they think that by cutting off people that customer service will improve.

Sprint Nextel Corp. has taken the unusual step of disconnecting customers who call customer service excessively.

The country’s third-largest wireless provider, with more than 53 million subscribers, has sent letters to about 1,000 subscribers terminating their contracts, according to Roni Singleton, a company spokeswoman.

If I had the category of “un-freakin’-believable” – this would be the top dog in that said category. Sprint has been ravaged in the past as one of the worst customer oriented businesses in their class. I gave up their service late last year after being a loyal customer for over 8 years.

I guess in this day and age of ADDO, it doesn’t really matter. They figure eventually the customer will come back. I almost did that to get an EVDO card for this laptop. It didn’t fit my laptop, and I had to return it that day. Two weeks ago, I received a bill for early termination of service!! I had to wait on hold for 20 minutes before anyone answered my call.

Now I’m sure a Sprint representative might be reading this, and want to comment to the effect of “Well he called at a peak time of day!” Sorry, but I tried all different hours of the day and night to get someone on the phone to correct this issue. Long story short, they did erase the bill for early termination, but I still check my mail; kind of expecting a screw up and I’ll be back on hold for 20 minutes to fix this issue.

Technically Speaking, I believe that Sprint needs to fix their act, and cutting off 1,000 people because they had issues is not the way to go about it.
