Gphone by Google is expected to be announced within the next few weeks. Now we have all read this many times, and even the first announcement on it this evening, casts doubts on the whole announcement.
Within the next two weeks, Google is expected to announce its plans to bring Google-powered phones to market by the middle of next year, people familiar with the situation say.
What seems like a great idea could be actually opening up a device that would be bigger than just another phone or iPhone clone. This seems like a great plan on the surface, but there are some who say doing this will be a big disappointment for consumers.
The most radical element of the plan, though, is Google’s push to make the phone’s software “open” right down to the operating system, the layer that controls applications and interacts with the hardware. That means independent software developers would get access to the tools they need to build additional phone features.
Technically Speaking, we shall wait for the big announcement, probably sometime around November 5th? :)
