If we can’t link, then you are killing off the current internet as we know it today. I don’t believe that government has ANY PLACE making rulings about what goes on within the internet. Such rulings are a TOTAL waste of our tax dollars. Why do judges get involved in something they know very little about? It’s obviously all about the money folks. That has to be the ticket here. For a judge to “rule” that it’s illegal to do deep linking is quite foolish. It has no bearing on the society that judges are suppose to be ruling over. What it does is basically make the internet more of a society. It makes a mockery out of goverment in general. As the article states, if you do NOT want your data linked to another site, then stay the F off the internet! Post your thoughts elsewhere. Sphere: Related Content

A true webOS and not just a webtop. It will becoming soon, but this one looks nice for a webtop that is currently being described in 2006 as webOS. webOS will become a true OS in 2007. For now give the company exoPlatform a look. I like the way the bottom works just like MacOS. I believe the player (startup) that takes over in all of the webOS dollars will be the one that reads this blog. Just kidding! You don’t have to read the Technically Speaking blog, but what I mean is, the one that rules in 2007 will be the one that makes webOS a true OS. This means - a nice small footprint bootable OS such as a custom Linux - then booting right into the webOS that is already there Simple right? The technology is all there, and the first company that can provide this, I will load it up on my old laptop to check it out. I believe the first company that does this, will really grab most of the undecided “whether to go Mac or PC” market that is currently out there. That in itself is a gigantic market of people. Another market that will be tapped is the old PC and old Laptop market. That market alone should be big enough to entice some of these companies to get a move on for 2007.

Technically Speaking, it’s a wide open market out there. webOS is starting to come into it’s own, and could be OWNing their piece of the OS market in 2007; or at the very least be in a better position next year at this same time.

I had it on a good source a few days back that Dell was in big big trouble. I did not run with the story, as I wanted more details. Apparently my source was really good. I do apologize to him for not running it right away (about 2 days ago is when I heard about this). My issue with this, is that the same guy that Dell just hired basically helped to kill off all the old guard TWA employees here in STL. There is always a company out there stupid enough to rehire your dumb a$$ and give you a bonus to boot. That is what is WRONG with corporate America. These people should NEVER be employed again. Guess what? This is the land of opportunity, and screw up CEO’s and executives get rehired over and over again to do what? Yes, that’s right people - screw over the common worker once again.

Technically Speaking, this is why India, China, and the European nations are passing America by. It’s because big corporations never learn – leave the loser CEO and executive to go flip burgers or something. It is not because the worker does poor work, or asks for too much salary. It is because the companies that have outsourced hire expensive CEO’s and executives that have a track record of F-ing things up. They are worthless pieces of you know what that can’t figure out their way out of a wet paper sack even with directions. Do not let the corporations lie to you the worker. It is not because they have paid you the worker too much money.

This does not bode well for Dell.

This is a nice speculation article that was written on the possibility of Linux(s) Torvalds working at Google to help with Google OS. I discussed the webOS thing awhile back, and I think that 2007 will be a year that more of the WebOS that are currently out there will begin to establish a foothold. I started talking about WebOS about a month or so ago. The last time I mentioned it was right here, and the blog post was talking about some company called eyeOS. The above article mentions YouOS, which is the most “Linux like” webOS. GoogleOS is inevitable to appear on the market in 2007. I mean, seriously, if you believe otherwise then the article about Linus joining Google is all TRUTH! Technically Speaking, I for one believe that 2007 is the right time and the right place in history for WebOS to really take off and get a foothold on small portable devices as well as our main machines.
Personally, I have an old laptop that is currently gathering dust in an upstairs closet that could be easily serviced to be a WebOS testing platform. Are there any WebOS entrepreneur’s ready for Rex Dixon to give their OS a spin?
Readership: Started in September 2006, Technically Speaking has grown in an upward page view slope. As of November 2006, we are getting approximately 1,000 page views about every 72 hours. ** UPDATE ** Growth is strong since the move to this domain - http://rexduffdixon.com – More Unique Hits then ever before!

NOT interested in UNITS, CPM, or counting? – Not a problem! Anything can be negotiated – a 1-3 month rate, or a longer term 6-12 month ad rate. Contact Us for negotiable terms.

Graphic Ads – CPM Pricing.**

125 x 125 IMU – (Top, right sidebar) – $8 CPM

Discounts are available for first time advertisers and larger buys/longer runs.

** CPM stands for “cost per thousand impressions” so for example having your ad appear 500,000 times on this site at a CPM rate of $4 would cost $2,000 (500,000 impressions x $4 / 1000).

At our current page view rate, your $2000 would go a long way – as with an average now of around 7,000 page views per month (and GROWING) – that $2000 investment would only be approximately $168 for a 3 month ad run.

That translates into almost a 33 month ad run for $2000!! To maximize your advertising dollar, you would be wise to get in on this ground floor opportunity.

Payment: The minimum purchase of $2000 is payable by check to Nuclear Inbox, LLC or wire transfer prior to running your advertisement. Please Contact Us for details.

How Long Will My Ad Run?: When your ad has reached it’s $2000 worth of page views, or closes in on it, you will be notified via e-mail as to whether you want to continue the ad campaign or to cease.

If your option is to cease, your ad will be pulled off when it reaches the total number of impressions you paid for. If your option is to continue, you will be requested to submit another $2000 payment and your new ad impression tracking will begin immediately upon the end of your old impression count.

For any information I have left out, please feel free to Contact Us.

Here is a nice little story that was buried today. Visto the owner of three patents concerning mobile e-mail has sued and won $7.7 million. This was originally done months earlier by a jury. In a U.S. District court, Judge T. John Ward of Texas, has ordered Seven Networks to pay the $7.7 million in damages.

Now when I said everyone “steals” something from someone else on the internet, the big guys take it one step too far I think. I don’t LITERALLY mean steal intellectual property. I mean come on guys, what kind of dork thieves are you? You are not suppose to LITERALLY steal! You borrow, you enhance, you shape and form it and make it your own.

If it is something you need to really have to make your product “go“, then you need to pay a little money in licensing fees, or buying the rights to use it. You do not just go and steal it. That is so very wrong on many terms that I can’t even think about how your parents would have treated this. Woodshed possibly if you are old enough? Leather strap across your backside perhaps? Yes, in many circles of society they say “child abuse”. It appears to be more part of parental neglect in the case of the people that authorized the stealing of the intellectual property of Visto.

This of course isn’t over yet, as Visto has also gone after companies such as RIM, Microsoft, and Good Technology Inc. The company Seven Networks also plans to go back to court in June. The original award of the jury trial, which the judge above upheld, was $3.6 million. That means – if you are wrong, pay the fine and do the time! The new judge tacked on interest and other fees. Do the math.

Technically Speaking, I don’t think too many companies out there today get it. Ethics, it’s a whole subject that should be gone over. No, I’m not teaching that class tonight.

It is quite strange to me that all of sudden my blog is basically cut off from the rest of the world. No one seems to be answering my inquiries as to “Why?”. I figure instead of engaging in a conversation of disagreement, the people that be in power decided to just cut me off. No explanation what so ever.

Let me explain something. The comments area below any post of mine is where you can post your negative views on my views. Mainly, if you disagree with something I wrote, please go ahead and air your displeasure.

To just out of the blue cut me off, for no reason and no explanation just proves one thing and one thing only. Total lack of respect for others. Your lack of respect for other people is quite disturbing. You seem to think all it takes is cutting someone off to make them stop blogging the truth.

Well there is where you are wrong. The choice by the powers that be is to no longer link my blog. I am still blogging my opinions on the top stories of the day. One thing I ask, “Could you man up and at least e-mail me your point of view?” I mean if you can’t even “man up” in the comments, do I really expect a e-mail with an explanation any time soon?

Technically Speaking, I do not expect any reponse from the people that are in power. That is fine, just next time you disagree with something, the comments below are for you to air that out. That is why they are there. Comments – leave yours now if you wish to disagree with anything that I have written.
