Slacker Radio Valentine’s Day Giveaway

February 12th, 2010 Rex Dixon Comments

UPDATE: I have FIVE (5) 3 month Slacker’s premium service “Radio Plus” subscriptions to giveaway. If you want one, ping me via DM with your e-mail address!

Received this notice today about a giveaway from Slacker Radio DJs. Here is the deal:

With Valentine’s Day coming I wanted to let you know that Slacker Radio DJs have created a collection of stations that you can listen to on the web or your Palm, iPhone, Android or BlackBerry smartphone. As always with Slacker, if you like a song “heart” it and it will play more often, and if you don’t like it, “ban” it and it will never play again.

Here are a few of the highlighted stations:
Love Songs - http://slacker.com/r/q4Yf
Rock Balladshttp://slacker.com/r/5Kyb
Country Lovehttp://slacker.com/r/HgZM
Broken Hearthttp://slacker.com/r/5Ky5
Metropolitan Moodhttp://slacker.com/r/q4Y5

Slacker allows anyone to quickly “save the moment” by playing romantic music wether they are in a restaurant or at home. Also, with Slacker, in a matter of minutes, you can create a custom station based on any artist or number of artists you like and then share that station with the one you love.

Technically Speaking, the person that dropped me this information may have possible giveaway information for Slacker’s premium service “Radio Plus”. Check back later!

Nirvana and Rick Astley

Yes, I found this on the blog that never sleeps, the Inquisitr. If you already are not at least a RSS reader of the blog like I am, you should be. Sometimes they’ll even throw you a bone of softcore NSFW porn; depending on what your view of NSFW is!

I do wonder where people find the time though to do fun projects like this?

Technically Speaking, that was classic.

Twitter Hashtags : Church Tongue Experiment

As of this morning, the experiment with the twitter hashtag has been a big #FAIL. No worries, many of you are probably asking “Why Church Tongue?”. Well it’s a friend of mine’s experimental gothic music mix send up. He asked me to help him promote the page, and I said, “Sure, why not.” Church Tongue isn’t your ordinary band or even your run of the mill music offering. That is exactly the point of it!

I know that those who have listened to the tracks probably have an opinion. If they saw the tweet on twitter or even not, they could easily leave an opinion with the hashtag system. That is all that Church Tongue is asking for. Right now, there is exactly ONE opinion - and looks like @klasinski is going to win the $25 eGift Card from RizzoTees by default. Quite sad.

I thought that the tweeps out there would have an opinion. I watch people be opinionated daily via twitter. Here is the chance to just take a few listens to some interesting music, and if you don’t like it, all you need to do is say so. If you love it or have suggestions, leave that also with the #freeschtuff hashtag.

Again, to date ONE opinion, looks like the winner will be easy to crown! Here are the details of this contest that is an easy chance to win a $25 eGift Card:

i’d f**k elvis (ruff memphis demo) - JUST released TODAY!

SEX KISS
semi-NEW SINGLE!

Technically Speaking, it’s one of those things like the lottery – you can’t win if you don’t play – I posted the original details of this contest right HERE!

What About All Of This I Hear?

It’s that time of the year here in the #STL that usually wouldn’t be a problem, but this year due to some unforeseen circumstances, didn’t hire a yard crew. Now that spring is fully here, and some other unforeseen events, looks like it will only be for a short time anyways.

As many of you have read, I took the job out in Los Angeles with ShopitMedia as their Director of Publisher Management as announced here.

Some of you may be scratching their heads as you may have also seen this earlier post on RWW about another position I recently took with Bit.ly in a consulting role as their Community Manager.

No confusion. The Bit.ly gig was only a part time opportunity which I’m still doing at least for the current time being. The ShopitMedia gig is full time. Also, note that Shopit is the main company. Lot’s of interesting stuff they offer, so you may want to check that out if you aren’t looking for traditional banner advertising.

And what about the siliconANGLE blog? Oh yeah, I’m still doing that also! Just not as much as I use too, but I contributed an article there this week. I also participated in several different threads over there, as that is what we want to see – other people’s angles via the commenting! Also – We still need more regular contributors to sign up! We already have had many new names show up in the past week, but we can always use other angles!

Technically Speaking, you have been updated, and now some yard work awaits me!
