Ion Orchard is a shopping mall in Singapore that is located at the end of Orchard road. It has been a decade now since it began running on 21st July 2009. The Ion Orchard, formerly known as the Orchard Turn Development or Orchard Turn Site, has settled for third-largest after Suntec city mall and vivacity mall. Boasting a floor area of 87,490 m2 and a retail space of 61,600 m2. RSP Architects Planners & Engineers Ltd designed it. The project developer, Orchard Turn Development, having a combination of two companies, the CapitaLand Limited, together with Sun Hung Kai Properties. The project has won two EG Retail and Future Project Awards, the Best Architectural Entry and the Best Retail Development over 20,000 m², at Mapic 2006 held in Cannes, France, in November 2006. Ion Orchard Shopping Centre is located near to Orchard MRT Station and Newton MRT Station.
